What Three Teams has the best chance to sign Lebron James
I have gone on record to say that Lebron James will wear a new uniform but it not what you may be thinking. The King new clothes will be the new uniform of the Cleveland Cavaliers With that said, what teams has the best chance to sign King James and can compete for a title?
Three teams everyone else is only daydreaming if they think they can have the prize of 2010 NBA free agency. The three teams that have any chance of signing Lebron are the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks. If Lebron goes to any of these teams he will need another player to win a title in 2011.
Chicago Bulls has Derrick Rose but Lebron and a player like Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire would be needed for a title run. Chicago fans not to burst your bubble, but Lebron and Derrick Rose tandem will not bring ring to Chicago. They will be a need for a third quality player; therefore, Chris Bosh or Amare should be speed dialing Bulls’ General Manager Gar Foreman if and when they get word of Lebron move to Chicago.
Miami Heat I am sorry to say they are in the same boat as Chicago and but in a much worse predicament. If they sign D-Wade then they can only sign King James and no else. They need a third player because D-Wade has similar game as Derrick Rose. Both Rose and Wade are slashers and in the East a team needs an athletic power forward that can score and defend or at the very least defend the interior. If the Heat signs Lebron and another star player that means D-Wade signs with another team because they would not have the cap space to retain Lebron, Wade, and another player.
The New York Knicks by signing Lebron and another coveted free agent makes them better team but not an NBA Final winning team. Knicks needs many pieces to climb out of the hole the franchise has dug. They need an upgrade at both guard positions. Tracy McGrady is on the downward curve of his career. They have the resources to sign King James, but it is highly unlikely that Lebron jumps at the chance of playing for the Knicks.
Cleveland has a dilemma, because no one has been added to the roster. As it stands, Cleveland will not get it done with the same exact roster. The new coach for Cleveland will have to work some magic to make it further into the 2011 NBA playoffs. I think it is the overall talent level that prevents King James from winning his first ring. Of the three teams, Chicago provides James his best chance at a ring, and he must be accompanied with a third party.
