What a Great Weekend in Sports
What a weekend in sports. Michael Vick is a starting quarterback in the NFL once more. Texas Longhorns were thrashed by UCLA. Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings won their first game of the season. Braylon Edwards was driving drunk. Alabama pulls out a 24-20 victory over Arkansas.
Peyton Manning keeps proving he is the best quarterback in the NFL. I was talking with my brother and he had to agree as well. I am not an Indianapolis Colts’ fan, but to put Manning’s ability into prospective, he continues to have great seasons passing the ball without a running game in years. It is more difficult to have a great passing offense without a serviceable running game.
Andy Reid looks like a genius making the decision to start Michael Vick over Kevin Kolb. Michael is “Mr. Wildcat”, but Vick has looked great throwing the football. Everyone and their mother knows Vick is the best running quarterback in the history of the NFL; however, he may have surprised a few people with good decision-making in the passing game. Vick will continue to give the Eagles a chance to contend.
There was a Roy Williams sighting in the victory against the Houston Texans. Dallas Cowboys finally got the monkey off his back with victory. Roy Williams looked like the number one receiver Dallas thought he was when they first brought him to the team. It is one victory; therefore, the Cowboys must not get complacent and continue to get better.
Minnesota Vikings also had their first victory, and Adrian Peterson had another great game. I mean this will greatly help a team that looked as if they were about to lose it in the locker room. Once Sidney Rice is cleared to play, I expect the Vikings to greatly improve.
There was great sports events over the weekend. I hope everyone stay tune for tomorrow when provide my NFL Wrap up. Everyone reading the Sporty Mouth leave comments like to hear the thoughts of my fellow sports fans.
