Okay, this is little old news, but I still would like to acknowledge baseball players like Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and the Big Hurt Frank Thomas for their election into Cooperstown. Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine were part of a pitching rotation that could have been considered the best ever for the Atlanta Braves.
Both Maddux and Glavine were 300 game winners. Maddux 355 wins and Glavine finished 305 wins. Thomas hit 52 homeruns and had 1704 Runs Batted In. Thomas predominately played most of his games throughout his career as the Designated Hitter.
Three great managers will also join the three great players elected. The managers are Bobby Cox, Joe Torre and Tony La Russa. As you might see, it was very Alanta Braves oriented. Both Cox and Torre managed the Altanta Braves at one point of their career. Torre will forever be remembered for the success he had in New York Yankees’ pinstripes.
2014 Hall of Fame Class, I say to all of you Congratulations.
