Week 14 Young QBs were Spectacular

If you told me that Week 14 in the NFL would end with 42-14 blowout victory by the New England Patriots over the Houston Texans, I would say you were smoking on something. However, it was a surprise to most football fans; the Patriots took the Texans to the woodshed and taught them a lesson.

It was a dominant effort and it truly never looked close. The best team in the AFC based on standings may have seen what it may be like when the NFL Playoffs rolls around. It will not be too easy to dethrone last year’s AFC champion Patriots. Brady made it seem easy as he threw four touchdown passes without an interception. Patriots proved once again that you cannot come to their stadium and get a win in December. Texans forgot to show up for the biggest game in their franchise’s history.

A Few NFL Draft Highlights

No shocker of the first selection of the NFL Draft, Cam Newton will now have to prove that he can play in the NFL whenever teams will be able to play. It is no longer about the character issues, he now must show the world he is a quarterback willing to do what it takes to get better.

The surprise of the NFL Draft was Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder going to Minnesota Vikings 12th pick. Many agree that this is by far the biggest reach this high in the draft. The quarterback situation has the Vikings truly grasping at straws. Vikings clearly need a veteran, and they may go get Donovan McNabb, but getting Ponder may come back and bite the Vikings.

Auburn’s Cam Newton let his game speak for him and to the many voters that made him 2010 Heisman Trophy winner. For the moment, he put his off-field troubles on mute and showed the world that winning and great play on the field wins out overall. He only have to prove that he can lead the Auburn Tigers to a National Title, because his won almost all of the major individual awards that a College football player could win.

Auburn Cam Newton Wins Three Awards the Easy Way

Auburn Tigers’ quarterback Cam Newton was a winner of three different awards. He was awarded the Davey O’Brien Award. It is an award given to the best quarterback. Newton also won the Maxwell Award. The Maxell Award is awarded to the top College Football player. He would become the third Auburn football player to win the Walter Camp Foundation National Player of the Year. Pat Sullivan won the award in 1971 and Bo Jackson won the award in 1985.
