Packers and Steelers Are Winners in the NFL Playoffs

Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers were winners in Saturday’s games. Both are one win away from playing in the Super Bowl. The games were exciting to say the least.

Green Bay Packers are playing great football, and it is because of the fantastic play of Aaron Rodgers. Many thought Matt Ryan, and the Atlanta Falcons were virtually unbeatable at home, but the Packers not only defeated the Falcons they embarrassed them. The final score was 48-21. Rodgers numbers were quite impressive. He passed for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns; however, it was his accuracy that was amazing. Rodgers connected on 86 percent of the 36 passes he attempted. Packers had at least five wide receivers that had 70 or more receiving yards. The Packers stopped the Falcons’ run game, and forced Ryan to throw two turnovers. With the win, the Packers will face the winner of the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks.

NFL Week 16 Wrap Up

NFL Week 16 saw a Head Coach lose his job, a highly touted team not make it to the playoffs and the most unlikely of teams win their division. With one game left in the NFL Regular Season, San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Michael Singletary was fired. The San Diego Chargers did not do enough down the stretch to make the Playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs wins the AFC West crown.

In NFL Week 16, the 49ers’ 25-17 loss to NFC West rival St. Louis Rams. It was enough to end Singletary’s tenure as Head Coach. The 49ers have such a talented team, but the quarterback situation was never to Singletary liking. The 49ers in majority of the games they played looked loss at times. It was inevitable that Singletary would be out; however, I thought he would be allowed to finish up the season.

Team AFC South faces Team NFC South to see which conference knows how to draft for team needs. Houston Texans receives a draft grade of A because they had few needs to meet. With the draft they addressed their need of a backup runningback to Steve Slayden. The cornerback Kareem Jackson should be go fit in the defensive backfield.

Indianapolis Colts earns a draft grade of B. This team made it to the Super Bowl and fell short but this team has always shown that they know how to pick the players to fulfill the roles on their team. In the 2010 NFL draft they got the offensive line help and a DB that should pay dividends against teams like the New Orleans Saints who like to pass.
