San Antonio Spurs was the only team to avoid elimination in Wednesday’s must win or go home games. It took overtime to do it, but with a 110-103 victory, they live to play another day. Spurs will have to win on the Memphis Grizzlies’ home floor to force a Game 7. Portland Trailblazers must follow the Spurs lead and defeat another state of Texas hopeful in the Dallas Mavericks. New Orleans Hornets is also need to win or go home situation.

Portland beyond the miracle game by Brandon Roy has not faired well against the Mavericks. They have allowed Jason Kidd open looks from behind the Arc. Mavericks have always managed to get a big lead against Portland; however, the only question is will they let the Trailblazers back in the game.

New Orleans Hornets will need a near perfect game out of Chris Paul. They cannot allow the big men of the Lakers to bully them down low. Hornets are undersized but fortunately, Lakers inside presence has been inconsistent. Pau Gasol was solid last game; however, it he performs as he did during the NBA Regular Season, then the Hornets will be going finishing with Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith.

Kobe has shown his ankle was non-factor; therefore, it is safe bet that his performance will be a highlight waiting to happen. Hornets will need great defensive game out of Trevor Ariza, and it will help if he continues to contribute on the offensive end. Lakers must play great defense on Paul to send the Hornets home.
