For next few weeks, it will be about the brackets. March Madness is finally here, and this year the Selection Committee got it right. I cannot argue with the number 1 seeds they chose. Louisville, Indiana, Gonzaga and Kansas were ideal choices. Once the tournament gets underway, the seeding will almost be irrelevant. As everyone has seen the past, there are teams that are not on the top two lines that are capable of an upset or two.
It would not be March Madness without the upsets. Despite not getting a one seed, Miami Hurricanes could win it all. There are not too many teams that going to defeat Miami when they are on top of their game. Winning both the ACC Regular Season and Tournament titles, it really shows how good this team is. Not to take away from the Hurricanes’ accomplishments, the ACC over the last few years have been weak compared to other power conferences.
Toughest road to Atlanta is the Midwest Region. Louisville is great team that can play defense. However, this team does not shoot the ball well. When you have team like Duke in the same region, they will be a great adversary. Michigan State is always tough out. They can defeat anyone in this region and field. Therefore, if you want see it happen, buy March Madness tickets.
The Big 10 has few teams can win it all. However, the team that took a step back over last few weeks was the Michigan Wolverines. Wolverines jelled early into the season and looked almost unstoppable. This is far from the picture, they have presented lately. Michigan must pull it together because they are dangerous when Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. are playing at the level they played earlier in the season. There is not much to say about Indiana. They are great and with their loss to Wisconsin, they still landed a number 1 seed. One of few teams can win it all.
March Madness will also reveal if Gonzaga can play with the better teams.Their schedule was weak compared to the other number 1 seeds. They have the tools, but can they stand up to the caliber of competition that this tournament will present them. It helps the Bulldogs are possibly in the weakest region, The West Region. New Mexico is going to surprise few teams in this region. They are capable of defeating Gonzaga.
I did not forget about Georgetown. Georgetown has one of its better teams in years and you can thank Otto Porter Jr. He must bring it each time. Georgetown is in the South Region. They have few good teams that could challenge them. Top seeded Jayhawks will not be a push over and Michigan is capable team to run the table from this region as well. March Madness is here buy your tickets enjoy the excitement of games and NCAA Final Four.
