How Injury May Issue Hard Reality to NBA Player with Potential
Greg Oden’s career seems to be over before it will ever really have a good start. I truly hope he can overcome the many injuries and have a decent career in the NBA. For athletes, you need to beware nothing is promise to you no matter how much potential you have. Life can throw you curveballs. The Trailblazers seem to have such bad luck with the NBA Draft and star players with career-ending injuries. Brandon Roy retired due to injuries sustained in his young career. Roy was a great talent.

NBA Draftand Portland, you only need to mention one name, and it is Sam Bowie. It was Sam Bowie, the 1984 NBA Draft, and you know the rest. Some guy name Michael Jordan is the next pick for the Chicago Bulls finished his career with six rings and perhaps the best player to ever dribble a basketball in the NBA. Now, you can fast forward to 2007 and Portland seem have done it again. The Trailblazers draft Oden over Kevin Durant. Durant has not won any rings as of yet, but it is evident he has the better career. This may never compare to Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan, but clearly Jordan should have been picked before Bowie on potential alone.

Oden was supposed to change the game on the defensive end and perhaps he will. The clock is ticking and many fans are continues to hope for the best. It would be a great story to see Oden succeed after countless setbacks due to injury. For now, Oden’s health has prevented him from receiving much needed knee surgery. I am sorry to say there may not be too many teams willing to take a gamble on him if the Trailblazers finally cut ties with him. His injury-plagued NBA career shows athletes the harsh reality of what can happen with such a great talent.
