Dallas Braden bring A’s Perfect Game
Dallas Braden will be forever remembered for what he done from the mound and not the exchange he had with Alex Rodriguez for crossing the mound in a game on April 22,2010. Braden pitched the 19th perfect game in Major League Baseball’s history on Mother’s Day against good Tampa Bay Rays’ team.
Braden’s perfect game was his first, and it was the second ever perfect game thrown by Athletics’ pitcher in 42 years and 1 day. The first A’s pitcher to throw a perfect game was Jim “Catfish” Hunter on May 8, 1968, against the Minnesota Twins. Baden was able to pitch his perfect game with his Grandmother in attendance.
Braden’s grandmother reared him after his mother passed away from cancer when he was young boy. Braden showed great control throughout the game since he is not an overpowering pitcher that throws in the high 90s.
It is always great to be in attendance when players manage to throw that perfect gem that everyone will be forever talked about. It can be added that both his game and Catfish Hunter game had same final score which was 4-0. Tampa Bay Rays have been playing some of the best baseball in the young baseball season. It just goes to show when you are on top of your game then great things can happen.
Braden struck out six of 27 batters that he faced and rest was left to defense of the Athletics. It goes without saying, but it was great masterful pitching from Braden that never allowed the Rays’ lineup to put his perfect game in jeopardy.
