No Moore UConn Huskies

There will be no Maya Moore at UConn as the Huskies’ great saw her great collegian career come to an end with a 72-63 upset defeat at the hands of the 2nd seed Notre Dame. Notre Dame will play the 2nd seed Texas A&M for Women National Title on Tuesday. Many thought the great Maya Moore would be playing for her third consecutive National Championship on Tuesday, but basketball is not scripted; however she did all she could possibly do to get there.

Will the Fans Get a UConn VS Stanford II For NCAA Women Basketball Championship

Maya Moore and the Connecticut Huskies have a chance to make it to another championship game on Sunday as they will face Notre Dame, but it is the team on the other side of the bracket that makes the Women Final Four interesting. The Stanford Lady Cardinals will face Texas A&M.

Both UConn and Stanford has to get pass the teams Notre Dame and Texas A&M but everyone who is a women basketball fan cannot help but think of possible rematch between both teams. Stanford ended the Streak of the Huskies and is the only team to beat UConn in its last two years.

Two streaks, the number one ranked UConn Women’s 90 game winning streak and the 8th ranked Stanford Cardinal’s 52 Home game winning streak were on the line; however, one streak had to give way to the other. Unfortunately, UConn Women could not go into the house of the 8th ranked Stanford Cardinals and end Stanford’s home winning streak. UConn Women Basketball had their 90 game winning streak snapped.

The 88th consecutive win would tie the Lady Huskies with the UCLA Bruins coached by the Greatest Coach in History, the late John Wooden. The UCLA’s 88 game streak began in January 1971 and ended January 1974 by a Digger Phelps coached Notre Dame Fighting Irish team. It was record that I thought would last forever. Now Lady Huskies is on the verge of tying Coach Wooden’s Bruins record.
