Can There Be An All-SEC BCS Title Game: Tigers Vs Crimson Tide Rematch

From the Sporty Mouth of dev4life | On: Nov 08 2011

No 1. LSU Tigers showed the world on Saturday that they could defeat the mighty Crimson Tide of Alabama; I ask the question could the 9-6 battle lead to another rematch-battle on a bigger stage, the BCS Title game? Both teams must continue winning especially Alabama. Tigers control their on destiny more so than Crimson Tide if they are both to make it to the BCS Title game.

Tigers simply need to win out and that includes the SEC Championship game, and that is strong possibility. Tigers proved on Saturday, they are the best team in the Nation by knocking off another great team in Alabama. There is no team in the SEC-East that looks the part of staying on the field with the Tigers. However, I have been wrong before. In fact, just last week, I picked the same Tigers to lose to Crimson Tide, but that is another story. Tigers sit on top of the BCS Poll and it is difficult to see anyone knocking them off.

Alabama like the Tigers must win, but they will be at the mercy of that darn BCS polling system. Over the few years, the system has not been horribly wrong. Therefore, Bama is ranked third in the BCS poll. It is a good position after losing to the number one-ranked Tigers. However, the question is can they overtake an Oklahoma State Cowboys squad that sits in the number-two position on the BCS Poll. For this to happen, the Cowboys must lose or play horribly against inferior competition. Cowboys have not played Oklahoma Sooners. Bama fans should be cheering for the Sooners to win, because this would be their ticket to a rematch with the Tigers and BCS Championship at stake. With an Oklahoma State’s loss, Alabama must hope the system does not favor squads such as Stanford or Boise State. Oklahoma will climb back into talks of being BCS-Title game worthy with a win over Oklahoma State. However, the BCS drama will unfold, it going to make some great NCAA Football Tickets to have in your possession.

Despite sitting third from the top of the BCS Poll, the Crimson Tide still has a long way to travel to meet the Tigers in the BCS Championship. I have seen crazier things happen; therefore, the rematch of the two best teams in the nation can and should happen. An all-SEC game with the Tigers versus the Crimson Tide, College Football fans would see one of the best BCS Championship game played in long time.

They did beat The Tide, but just barely, and there were some questionable calls at key moments. Folks that follow either of these teams won’t let that go, ergo a rematch would be a good thing. We’ll see if that happens.
I’m going to Tampa this December with Outback Bowl tickets. We’ll see how Georgia fares against Michigan. Being a southern boy, I’m pulling for Georgia.
