No. 4 San Diego State Aztecs versus No. 9 BYU Cougars will be the game to watch on Wednesday night. The surprise team of the year, the Aztecs will have to contend with the hottest scorer not name Kemba Walker in Jimmer Fredette. Fredette is a 40-point game waiting to happen and a long-range marksman that will pressure defenses.

Fredette gets all the attention for College basketball leading 26.7 scoring average, but he is not a one-man show, and the play of guard Jackson Emery will be a reminder to defenses, Fredette is one of five players. Against the Aztecs, it is a given Fredette will score; however, Wednesday’s game will be decided in the paint.

In the paint, San Diego State has the slight advantage, thanks to forward Kawahi Leonard and Malcolm Thomas. Both Leonard and Thomas hit the boards which will spell problems for the poor rebounding Cougars. The dead-eye shooting of D.J. Gay will keep the heat off of players playing on the low-block. The Cougars will have to generate turnovers and have near perfect game from Fredette. BYU is Aztecs’ first true test of the season and a win over a Top Ten opponent will surely validate their unbeaten season.

San Diego State is in unfamiliar territory being ranked in Top Ten; however, their 20-win season is quite familiar under Head Coach Steve Fisher. Fisher has coached the San Diego State to seven 20-win seasons. Both the BYU Cougars and SDSU Aztecs will present their fans an exciting game to watch on Wednesday.
