Battle of the Draft Grades: Team AFC North vs Team NFC North

From the Sporty Mouth of dev4life | On: Apr 28 2010

Overall, Team AFC did very well with meeting their team needs. Baltimore Ravens could have done a better job in the draft meeting team needs. They selected defensive tackle and Tackle they needed. Tackle was drafted in the sixth round and could make it on the field. I think they earned a C for their draft efforts.

Cincinnati really almost knocked this draft out of the park as they seem to have met their teams nicely. The pickup of TE Gresham and WR Shipley should be a great addition to team. Dunlap at defensive end showed critics that draft for team needs was a priority. The Bengals earns a grade of a B.

Cleveland Browns put the pieces together nicely although many would argue that Colt McCoy was a steal in the third round. In the end they got the quarterback they needed along with the cornerback in Joe Haden. The Browns easily earns an A as a draft grade.

Pittsburgh did a great job bringing in the selections that will help their team. Big Ben is still part of the team; therefore the quarterback was not a need. The team picked the best center in the draft in Maurkice Pouncey. This was great job of getting what they needed out of the NFL Draft.

Team NFC North has much to overcome as Team AFC West shows that they know how to draft for team needs. Chicago Bears did not have many needs to meet but I think they could have done better job at selecting players that would meet their teams’ needs. I felt they earned a C.

Detroit got the defensive help needed by drafting the dominant DT Ndamukong Suh. The Lions help themselves all across the board; therefore, they earned an A for their great effort.

Green Bay Packers also could have done a better job in this year draft. They addressed their need to augment their offensive line but beyond that the team could have done more. In regard to drafting for needs, they received a draft grade of a C.

Minnesota Vikings, they truly missed the mark in this year draft. They only managed to grab a cornerback and needed so much more in this draft. They receive a failing grade of a D.

I hope everyone has enjoyed taking look at how well each division done drafting the for team needs. Everyone feel free take look back at : Team AFC East vs Team NFC East, Team AFC West vs Team NFC West, and Team AFC South vs Team NFC South.
