A Rumble in the SEC: No.1 Alabama Vs No. 7 Florida
In the previous week, No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide passed their first legitimate test for this season when they defeated Arkansas 24-20. Crimson Tide will face the No. 7 ranked Florida Gators for the first time in the post Tim Tebow era. Last year, Tebow and the Gators were expected to win the National Championship; however, the roles are reversed this season.
The Crimson Tide comes into game as the team favored to win the BCS Championship, and it will be the Gators who will play the Underdog in this year game. Bama has a plethora of weapons on offense, and the defense is stout and stingy. Florida’s offense cannot have many miscues or this game will be over early. True freshmen sensation, Trey Burton may be just what is needed to shock Alabama.

Alabama will want to play smash mouth football that features Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. People should recognize with Richardson in the game, he is a great threat that could start anywhere in the country. He is quite capable of punishing a defense that does not respect his ability in the ground game.

Julio Jones will have a big game if the ground game plays as they have done in the first few games. The passing game struggled against the Razorbacks, but do not expect a repeat performance. Greg McElroy is usually good accurate passer, and I expect him to get over a poor game last week and be quite reliable with his decision-making.
Florida has added a new wrinkle in an offense that last week looked great. The wrinkle comes in the form of true freshmen Trey Burton. Burton could be the X-factor in the game, because he is a terror when he lines up in the Wildcat. At the quarterback position, Burton will give Alabama something to think about, because he is such a good runner. His versatility will make the job of pocket passer John Brantley a lot easier. Burton last week broke Tim Tebow’s school record for touchdown scored in a game with six touchdowns. If Florida can get the Alabama’s great defense off balance then the results should be favorable for team looking for revenge for last year’s loss.
Florida’s defense has proven they can be very good. The defense has not faced such an elite offense like the Crimson Tide; therefore, they must send a message early that we contain Bama powerful running attack. In the end, I feel that Bama may just be too strong of a team for the Gators. Alabama should win in what I consider the best game on tap for Saturday.
