(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Chicago Bulls continue to play great basketball and on Tuesday night, they took care of business. In very close game, the Bulls defeated the New Orleans Hornets 99-95. The Bulls may not have a Big Three like Miami Heat, but they are playing well with last year NBA MVP in Derrick Rose leading the way as usual. Chicago Bulls are the second best team in the Eastern Conference depending on the person or expert you ask. They have shown that they are capable of winning games without the MVP in Rose. Luol Deng has played well and earned his first NBA All-star appearance.

CIAA Men and Women Basketball Tournament 2012 Takes Over Charlotte, NC

Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament kicked-off February 27, 2012, but the festivities along with some great women and men basketball will last until March 3, 2012. It all goes down in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year also represents the 100 year anniversary of the CIAA.

Shaw University Bears are clear-cut favorite to win it all. Shaw finished their season with a 24-2 record and was undefeated in the Conference. They are favored to win it all because of the Conference Player of the Year Malik Alvin. Alvin is averaging over 20 points and he is lights-out from behind the arc with 53 percent three-point shooting percentage. There are few teams that will make it difficult for Shaw to win the tournament, and they are Winston Salem State Rams and Bowie State University Bulldogs.

Williams 38 Points Spoils Melo’s Return

Melo makes his return to the New York Knicks’ lineup, but it was Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets that quieted the return of Anthony and the roar of Linsanity for at least a night. Williams led the Nets to a 100-92 victory. The sensation Jeremy Lin had a great game, but Williams is possibly the best point guard in the NBA, and he proved it in the Nets’ victory.

Williams scored 38 points, and he made Lin a liability on defense. Lin should not fret because D-Will makes most point guards in the league look as if they are a step behind his superb play. Williams was running defensive players into screens. He was 8 of 14 from behind the arc. You could not ask for a better performance. On the other side, Carmelo Anthony struggled in his first game back. Lin put his usual numbers up, and he had only three turnovers in the loss.

Lin Propels Knicks to Sixth Consecutive Victory

Yes, I am on the bandwagon, Jeremy Lin is doing it real big in the Big Apple. Linsanity is off the charts, but it does not matter as long as the New York Knicks benefit from his great play. Knicks have won six straight games, and Lin has been main reason to why the Knicks are successful. Yes, he is a turnover machine, but you have to pick your poison between him turning the ball over or having Carmelo Anthony hold the ball until the All-Star break come. Knicks are not going to complain too much of Lin’s turnovers as long as they continue to win.

Big Blue Will Win Super Bowl XLVI

Super Bowl Sunday cannot wait. Big Blue looks to make their record 2-0 against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The New York Giants are by far the most balanced of the two teams. Giants’ defense will need to pressure Tom Brady, because everyone knows what Brady is capable of when giving time in the pocket. The running game for the Giants must keep the chains moving. Controlling the clock via a good ground game will keep Brady and the Patriots aerial attack grounded.
