A Few NFL Draft Highlights


No shocker of the first selection of the NFL Draft, Cam Newton will now have to prove that he can play in the NFL whenever teams will be able to play. It is no longer about the character issues, he now must show the world he is a quarterback willing to do what it takes to get better.

The surprise of the NFL Draft was Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder going to Minnesota Vikings 12th pick. Many agree that this is by far the biggest reach this high in the draft. The quarterback situation has the Vikings truly grasping at straws. Vikings clearly need a veteran, and they may go get Donovan McNabb, but getting Ponder may come back and bite the Vikings.

UConn Huskies Turn Butler’s Hope to Mush and Wins National Title

Kemba Walker and the UConn Huskies would not be denied a National Championship on Monday night. The 53-41 score was enough for Jim Calhoun to become only the fifth coach to win at least three National Titles as he won his third national title. Huskies was the hottest team coming into March Madness, and they rode it all the way to a National title.

The game was not a dogfight; in fact, Butler’s offense was the worst in a National Championship game’s history. It is impossible to imagine that a team can shoot 19 percent a game; however, the Bulldogs did just that. The Huskies played good defense, but it was poor shooting that ultimately led to Butler losing a second consecutive title game. Twelve made field goals for an entire game as a team was the wrong night to have an atrocious shooting night.

No Moore UConn Huskies

There will be no Maya Moore at UConn as the Huskies’ great saw her great collegian career come to an end with a 72-63 upset defeat at the hands of the 2nd seed Notre Dame. Notre Dame will play the 2nd seed Texas A&M for Women National Title on Tuesday. Many thought the great Maya Moore would be playing for her third consecutive National Championship on Tuesday, but basketball is not scripted; however she did all she could possibly do to get there.

NCAA Championship Game Goes to the Dogs

Mankind best friends will be at the center of attention on Monday night, because the NCAA Men Basketball Championship game has gone to the dogs as both the Connecticut Huskies will face the Butler Bulldogs. Both teams have some outstanding back story to go with their quest for a National title. Kemba Walker and the Huskies have won ten consecutive games and Butler will make their second consecutive trip to the National Title game. The NCAA Final Four has been all it was hyped up to be and now the two teams Butler and UConn will play for it all on Monday night.
