Cam Newton 2010 Heisman Trophy Winner By A Landslide

Auburn’s Cam Newton let his game speak for him and to the many voters that made him 2010 Heisman Trophy winner. For the moment, he put his off-field troubles on mute and showed the world that winning and great play on the field wins out overall. He only have to prove that he can lead the Auburn Tigers to a National Title, because his won almost all of the major individual awards that a College football player could win.

There was no surprise that Newton walked away with the Heisman as he threw for 2589 yards, ran for 1409 yards, and he has the undefeated Auburn Tigers playing for BCS Championship. Well for good measure, the 28 touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns was enough evidence to the voters that he belonged in the elite club of College football stars like a Bo Jackson, Tim Tebow or a Pat Sullivan.

He will be faced with the question for the rest of his life did he know about the pay for play scheme led by his father. There will always be some skepticism regarding his actual knowledge of what his father Cecil was doing on his behalf; however without question, voters had no choice, but to award Cam Newton a trophy he rightfully deserved. He was the best college football player to take the field. His numbers proves it and his presence on the field made the Auburn Tigers the best team in the Nation.

It was Newton’s night like it has been his year good or bad. For now, congratulations to Cam Newton for becoming the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner.
